Welcome to the OWLS at UVA Law!
The OWLS {Older Wiser Law Students} organization was created by students at UVA Law in 2019. Our founders wanted to create a community for students who did not fit into the traditional mold--thus the OWLS at UVA strives to enhance the experience of non-traditional law students.
However, membership is not limited to "older" law students -- we welcome the old-at-heart. Younger/ more traditional students are our "OWL-lies" (owls + allies). We also welcome membership from other UVA programs, spouses, partners, and significant others. All are welcome.
Throughout the academic year and the summer, the OWLS at UVA serves as a support network for its member base. We host social events & field a softball team as part of the co-rec division of the North Grounds Softball League {GO PARLIAMENT!}. We also host guest speakers, arrange networking opportunities, and facilitate mentor relationships between upper-level and lower-level law students.
The social events offer non-traditional students the opportunity to create a social network and bond with others who have shared life experiences. The tailored networking events, career workshops, and alumni network uniquely benefits students coming to UVA with prior professional experience.
Since our founding, we have grown exponentially and would love to have you join in!
